Sony shouts last call for the World Photography Award honors

Sony has asked photographers across the world to enter 2015 World Photography Awards. They have declared their last call for entries before this contest closes for entry submission on 5th January, 2015. Amateur shooters will battle for Open title, whereas pro photographers will fight for L’Iris d’Or/Sony World Photography Awards Photographer of the Year. The winner will be declared on 23rd April.

Top photographs from Sony World Photography Awards would go on display at the Somerset House in London and will be brought out in an accompanying book. And the judges for the contest include New York Times Magazine’s deputy photo editor Joanna Milter.

As one contest closes, another comes open, in the form of Wildlife Photographer of the Year Awards that will start receiving entries for 8 weeks starting from 5th January. Dr Alex Mustard, a underwater photographer, told that like al judges, he is also expecting lovely images, something that he has not seen before. His advice for impressing the judges’ panel is to ensure your basics are exemplary and also different.

Sir David Attenborough, who has handed Wildlife Photographer of the Year Awards on several occasions, told that lovely pictures of nature have one thing in common, they are unforgettable. They could also be a profound source of beauty, wonder and joy.

Wildlife Photographer of the Year would feature twenty-one categories for young and adult photographers that include WILD-I that seeks ‘natural world stories’ clicked on mobile devices by young citizens.
